Description of the position
Design Technicians plan, design, develop and document ceramic industry products for manufacture with particular emphasis on marketing considerations and manufacturability, and prepares them for mass or batch production.
- Tasks related to this position include but are not limited to
- Detailing and documenting the selected design for production
- Preparing and commissioning prototypes and samples
- Testing samples of raw materials
- Preparing samples and models to communicate design concepts.
- Selecting, specifying and recommending functional and aesthetic materials, production methods and finishes for manufacture.
- Formulating design concepts for tiles and other ceramic products.
- Matching colours in production.
Qualifications and competencies required
- NQF LEVEL 6 Diploma in Graphic Design or related
- Adobe Photoshop
- Valid driving license
